Although we see new features coming to WhatsApp every day, it looks like Meta has no plans to stop.
Thanks to the information from the WABetaInfo website, we have learned which features we might get soon. Each of them, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt – Meta often changes plans, which means that some of these options may not make it to the official version of WhatsApp.
See who left the group
With a new feature available to group moderators, it will be possible to check who has left their group. The information about the date, of course, will not be visible to other participants in the group, writes The Sun.
Save conversations before deleting them
The ability to delete conversations has changed the name of WhatsApp, but the company is now going one step further and is testing the option of keeping part of the messages. As a reminder, you can now choose whether you want the message to disappear after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days, but a potential upgrade will also add the option to keep some messages, with the approval of other interlocutors, of course.
Avatars for video chats
If you don’t want to show your face in video chats, Meta has a solution. After one of the next upgrades, users will be able to customize their own avatars along the lines of Memoji on the iPhone.
Reactions to emoji statuses
WhatsApp recently added reaction emojis to messages, but the beta goes further and applies the same method to statuses. Reactions will work the same way as Instagram Stories, which is not strange considering they have the same owner.
Another neat feature, for those who want a hint of privacy, comes in the form of ‘stealth mode’ which basically gives you the ability to use the app with a hidden online presence status.
