Some beaches in Italy have been closed due to water contaminated with Escherichia coli, local media reported.
After two years of the corona virus pandemic, tourists couldn’t wait to rest on the beach, swim and sunbathe. However, the situation in certain parts of Italy is somewhat different this year due to the bacteria that is spreading.
Namely, the region of Emilia-Romagna is currently in trouble due to polluted sea water. Tourists can no longer swim, and a high bacterial presence of Escherichia coli has been determined in around 30 locations.
The popular holiday destination – Rimini, which is known for its night clubs on the beach – also came under attack.
The list of beaches that are closed includes Rimini, Goro, Rio Pircio and Foliano Marina.
