The American company Amazon will start selling cars through its online shopping platform next year, reports CNBC.
Starting next year, Amazon will allow customers to buy a new car online and then pick it up at a local dealership.
Customers will be able to search and select available vehicles in their area and complete the transaction on the Amazon platform using their preferred payment method.
Cars from the South Korean company Hyundai will be the first to be available for purchase, the company said in a statement.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the partnership with Hyundai will change “the ease with which customers can buy vehicles online.”
As part of the two companies’ strategic partnership, Hyundai will also include Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant in its cars from 2025.
