Coca-Cola Croatia announced on Thursday that the latest analysis by the State Inspectorate removed any doubts about the healthiness of their products.
- On 15.11.2023. Analytical report 235940 was received from the Croatian Institute of Public Health, from which it appears that a sample of Romerquelle Emotion with blueberry pomegranate flavor, 330 ml and marked 12.2023/L 17Q03:54RG is healthy – they say from Coca-Cola HBC Croatia.
They also published the report of the State Inspectorate, which reveals key information about what happened during the eight days when it was suspected that the drinks produced by Coca-Cola were contaminated, which has now been shown to be incorrect.
During that period, there was also a ban on the sale of certain batches of Coca-Cola and Romerquelle, but it was established that these batches were also healthy.
Why didn’t Coca-Cola communicate with the public immediately?
The minutes state that the deadline for the execution of the measures was immediate and lasted until the correctness of the rest of the series was determined through official analyses. In those days, Coca-Cola did not communicate with the public about the details of what they were doing, and in the minutes they published on Thursday, it is stated that on November 14, they informed the inspection that they visited 604 direct customers in seven days, they additionally visited 3,831 other customers, so they 3,623 bottles found on the market were returned to storage.

In the record, which clearly describes the drama that has been happening since November 8, when the State Inspectorate entered Coca-Cola and ordered the withdrawal from the sale of the entire series of Romerquelle Emotion with blueberry-pomegranate flavor due to poisoning with that drink in a cafe in Rijeka.
On that day, the State Inspectorate verbally ordered Coca-Cola to withdraw and temporarily prohibited the further placing on the market of the product Romerquelle Emotion with the taste of blueberry pomegranate, 330 ml, series with a shelf life of 12.2023. L17, which is connected to the case in Rijeka. They were also ordered to effectively and accurately inform customers about the reasons for the withdrawal.

It is now known from the minutes that the bottle in question from the coffee shop in Rijeka was from the batch that was produced on March 17 at Coca-Cola Austria, from which a total of 300,940 pieces were distributed to Croatia. The entire series was in circulation on the Croatian market, and according to the analysis of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, it was confirmed to be correct.
At the end of the minutes, it is stated that there was an isolated case in Rijeka of a damaged person who drank a liquid that was determined by analysis to be a highly alkaline aqueous solution of pH 13.6, which proves that she did not even consume Romerquelle Emotion with blueberry pomegranate flavor, 330 ml. durability series 12.2023. L17.
In the minutes, it is finally concluded that there are no elements for further proceedings because it has been proven that the rest of the Romerquelle Emotion series is considered healthy.
