The attacker who opened fire at three locations in Memphis, Tennessee, killing four women and seriously wounding a fifth, committed suicide in his car, the local police said.

Officers found Mavis Christian Jr. in his getaway car after killing three women, one teenage girl, and seriously wounding another teenage girl.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Howard Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m.

“The investigation determined that this incident was connected to two other shootings and that it involved the same suspect,” the Memphis Police Department said, adding that it was domestic violence.

A woman and a 13-year-old girl were killed and a 15-year-old girl was seriously injured in Field Lark Drive. Another woman was found shot to death on Warrington Street, Memphis Police Officer Christopher Williams said.
