Under the new German law, people who want to acquire German citizenship will probably have to recognize Israel’s right to exist.

According to the draft of the new German law, immigrants are required to recognize Israel’s right to exist, as a condition for acquiring citizenship.

The parliamentary group consisting of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and the Christian Social Union (CSU) requested the adoption of the law on “preventing the naturalization of anti-Semitic foreigners”.

The draft proposes that “the acquisition of German citizenship depends on adherence to Israel’s right to exist and a declaration that the applicant for naturalization has not sought or will continue any efforts directed against the existence of the State of Israel.”

Since the bill includes amending the Citizenship Law so that “foreigners” do not engage in activities that oppose the “existence of the State of Israel,” Germany could now be on its way to denying citizenship to anyone who is pro-Palestinian.

“Germany demands recognition of Israel’s right to exist while Israel is waging a genocidal war in Gaza. Not so long ago, while Germany was exterminating the Jews, it demanded recognition of its right to exist against the Judeo-Bolshevik conspiracy. It seems that Germany needs to undergo a second denazification.” said prominent Jewish-American scholar and activist Norman Finkelstein for TRT.
